The community of Copake, Craryville and Hillsdale and their comments have been heard by the Office of Renewable Energy Siting (ORES). So much so that ORES has deemed Hecate Energy's Shepherd's Run application incomplete and must address 20 pages of requests for revisions, including detailed explanation as to how Hecate Energy has addressed and incorporated the Copake Solar Working Group's recommendations into their application. We don't want to stop sharing the community's comments and are asking everyone in the area to make their voices heard.

Here's a sample comment you can cut and paste which has been modified to recognize that Hecate's application was deemed incomplete. We do encourage you to revise this comment with your own meaningful responses and how this project will impact you and the community for decades to come:
I am a resident of Copake and I'm writing to urge you to require Hecate to adopt the Copake Solar Working Group recommendations as part of the permit for Shepherd's Run.
It is encouraging to see that ORES has specifically asked Hecate Energy to revise the application and to include detail as to how they have addressed the Copake Solar Working Group's recommendations. However, I'm writing to ensure that ORES require Hecate to do more to deliver a proposal that benefits the community just as much as it benefits Hecate. Hecate should be required to enter into a strong, enforceable Host Community Agreement with the Town of Copake, which incorporates the Working Group recommendations to protect Copake's prime farmland, natural resources, and homeowners from the adverse impacts of the Project, and to provide much-needed community economic benefits.
Thank you!
